Twenty nine year old Felix Broadcott, an artist from Hammersmith, was charged early this morning for the violent assault on a young woman near Tufnell Park Station. Valentina Groli, 24, was returning home from a party on Wednesday evening when she was dragged into an alleyway. After fighting off her attacker she ran to a nearby shop where the police were called. Broadcott, who was arrested at Waterloo station, has previously exhibited at private galleries in London and Brighton, and last year won the Pythos Prize, where the panel described him as an exciting and edgy new painter. His winning entry, entitled Torn Skin, depicted a graphic scene of domestic violence. Police have confirmed the charge, but have declined to comment further.
